Halloween Party!

On Tuesday Logan hosted his first Halloween party.  Logan's friends came decked out in their Halloween costumes and a good time was had by all.

Good Buds

We wanted to get a group picture but getting 6 mobile babies to sit still at the same time was like herding cats.
These three stayed put and just watched the other boys make their mommas chase them.
Finally!
James, the only walker in the group, is off!
The girls playing with the cars in their skirts/tutus.  Too cute!
Yes, Nicholas is playing with a spatula.

What a great party!

Fall Pictures

I took advantage of some nice weather yesterday and took some pictures of Logan with our pumpkins.

One of my favorites!

Trying to figure out his buttons.  He likes to chew on metal.

Apple Picking

Last week Logan and I met one of his friends to go apple picking.  While the boys did not get a lot out of the picking part, they both are enjoying the fresh apples at home.
Don't they look thrilled?

Fall in New England

Saturday was a gorgeous fall day in New England, even if it was a little warm.  We took advantage of the day and headed to a local farm for some fun fall activities.  You can tell it is peak tourist season here because there were licenses plates from all over the country!  Regardless of the crowds, we had a great time.  We went on a hayride, checked out the corn maze and picked out pumpkins.  Our winters might be harsh, but I love the fall here!

I'm ready, Daddy!
Logan's in there, even if a little small

I don't think he liked the hay

11 Months Old

On Thursday, Logan turned 11 months old.  I cannot believe that in one short month, our baby boy will be 1!  Here’s what is new with Logan over the past month.

Logan has gotten so much better with finger food since he developed his pincher grasp this month.  He is eating pancakes, pasta, chunks of veggies (until a few days ago, he is on a veggie strike) and fruit, cheese, omelets, and his current favorite, toast.  In the past week he got his first taste of meat.  I started him with chicken because that was what I was cooking.  He would not eat pieces of the chicken, but chopped it up in some applesauce, and he will take it down.  He is eating everything in the form of finger foods, except his veggies.  I am confident he will soon be eating those all by himself too.  In the past month he has also learned how to effectively use his sippy cup.  And that boy can take down some water.
I love toast!
This is what Logan does when he is done eating - throws the leftovers on the floor.  Rocky loves it!
Logan has had a lot of new developmental milestones this month.  He learned how to clap, cruise the furniture, climb stairs and everything else, and my personal favorite, dance.  And the boy usually dances to the music in his head which cracks me up.

Walking
Games have now become a part of Logan’s play time.  Logan learned how to play ball with someone by passing it back and forth.  Logan loves to classic game of chase.  He does not care if he is the chasee or the chaser, he just loves to play.  He also loves to play hide and seek, but only if he is the seeker.
Always playing
Logan got his 6th tooth this month.  He now has the front 4 on the top and the front 2 on the bottom.
And always climbing
Logan is getting more and more steady on his feet every day.  To help encourage walking (I know I will regret that when it happens) I bought him a walker that doubles as a ride-on car a few weeks ago.  He is so proud when he pushes the walker across the room.  And he loves when Momma or Daddy will push him around on the car.  Rocky thinks that the car is great fun and runs around also.  We are able to play with both children at once!

Logan continues to be a very talkative baby which I cannot get enough of.  After months and months of baby talk, he is now very close to saying a few words.  He can almost say “ball” and “bye.”  He recognizes what a ball is and when is an appropriate time to say “bye.”  This is such an exciting developmental time for Logan!

Family Fun Day

I convinced Matt to take a vacation day on Friday and declared it family fun day.  It seems that our weekends have been so busy lately that we have not had a whole lot of time together.

We started the day with a pancake breakfast.  Everyone enjoyed the banana pancakes.

The plan initially was to head to the farm for a hayride, corn maze and pumpkin picking.  But then I saw that the oldest and largest fair in New Hampshire was running this weekend and despite the fact that Logan is just shy of 11 months and that the fair is a 1 hour drive, I decided this was the family activity for us.

Apparently, the rest of New Hampshire thought this was a good idea too.  It seemed as if the whole state took the day off to go to the fair.  We were able to elbow our way into the animal petting tent and watched some older kids ride the camels, but that is about where the fun stopped for us.  Matt and I were reminded that the only time we tolerate crowds is at a GA game and there was not a lot for a 10 month old to do.  However, we were able to spend the day together as a family and that was what mattered.
