Mother's Day

I had another wonderful Mother's Day.  We went to a zoo in the morning.  The zoo we went to was perfect for Logan.  It was small so the animals were really close which made it easy for him to see them.  I don't think he would have gotten as much out of it if there was a moat between the animals and the visitors.  The smallness of the zoo was also perfect for his attention span.  Afterwards, we went out for lunch were Logan proceeded to spill a full glass of ice water on Daddy while Momma was in the bathroom.  After heading home and getting a nap, Daddy made dinner.  Great day!

Logan loved the pigs!

Daddy is looking for the snow leopard.  Logan is looking at a stick.

Logan got his stick.

Daddy found the snow leopard.

Logan then traded his stick for a rock.

Strolling through the zoo.

Yak!

Monkeys!

I let Logan pick out any stuffed animal that he wanted.  He picked a skunk!

18 Months Old!!!

Logan turned 18 months old this week.  For those of you who don't count age in terms of months, that is 1 1/2 years old.  This seemed like such a big milestone for me.  In honor of the special day, I took Logan's first photo with Teddy since he turned one.

More and more of Logan's personality comes through every day.  I love it.  I am able to see some of Matt and myself in his actions.  And sometimes I wonder: "where did he get that from?"  He is an organizer.  He is also a great helper.  This is something I am hoping lasts through the birth of the new baby boy.  He will pick up his toys and put his books away.  When I am clearing the room the vacuum, he helps me move everything he can out of the room and back in when I am done.  He helps get clothes in and out of the dryer and will push the laundry basket into the bedroom for me.  Anything I ask him to help me with, he will do.  Love it!
After a 5K last month.  He wore his "Rocky" tshirt in support of Daddy (and Momma).

This is what this is for, right?

Logan also wants things done just so.  I would not quiet say perfectionist just yet, but it might be the makings of one.  If he cannot do something correctly, he gets so angry.  However, it will pass quickly as he moves onto something else.

Down the slide with Momma

He continues to love books and needs to know what everything is on a page.  In fact, he has reached an age where he needs to know what everything is, period.  I spend my day identifying all kinds of objects, usually a dozen times in a row.

Muggin'

Logan got up to saying 5 words, and then he stopped saying them.  He mostly only says "bah" and babbles.  He can make some animal sounds, though.  He moos and meows.  He also makes a weird noise for a monkey.  Kind of a high pitch squeal.  I guess some monkeys sound like that.  He recently started saying "momma" again, but it is not often.  However, you can tell he understands just about anything you say to him.  And if you ask him to do something that he does not know, he gives you a "I don't understand" motion.  It is really pretty cute and I think currently my favorite thing.
Logan's 1st date

Logan continues to get together with his play group friends almost every week.  He is still not a big fan of other kids and is slow to warm up each week that we see them.  That will have to quickly change when his little brother is here!  In addition to our regular play group, Logan has been taking swim lessons.  He did one 6 week session at one facility from March to mid-April.  I was not happy with them and neither was he.  We recently started another session at a different facility and both of us LOVE them!

Love "Wheels on the Bus!"

Logan is still a typical picky toddler when it comes to the dinner (or breakfast or lunch) table.  I am never sure what he is going to eat from day to day or even meal to meal.  At times, it is frustrating, but I know it is also just a fact of life.
The kid loves Jello, though.
