Dylan: 1 Month Old

On Wednesday, Dylan turned 1 month old.  I thought that Logan's 1st month went fast.  That was nothing compared to Dylan's.  No more doctor's appointment until 2 months old, but I know he continues to grow well.  His skinny little legs are getting fatter every day.  And his cheeks are getting more chubby.  I love my big, robust baby.

The cheeks have gotten chubby!

Dylan has been growing developmentally as a one month old should.  His eyes are becoming less and less cross-eyed.  He is tracking items and faces.  He was born with unbelievable head control which continues to get stronger every day.

Logan loves to workout with his brother

I knew with Logan how lucky I was to have a great sleeper.  I was worried when Dylan was born that my luck was going to run out and I would be up all night with an infant and then all day with a toddler.  However, I must have done something right in a past life because I have been lucky enough to get two great sleepers.  Believe me, I am thankful every day when I wake up.  And I still worry the other shoe may drop on that one.
I don't know why this picture keeps loading rotated.  You get the idea - a sleeping baby.
Logan tolerated the swing.  He rarely used it and eventually we moved it up into the attic for storage until the next child.  I got it out and cleaned it up for Dylan the other week and much to my surprise, this child really loves the swing.  The bad news, the motor on the swing had stopped working.  I still do not understand why.  So, we bought another one and it has been a life saver.  While a swing is nice to have, I found that it is necessary when you have two children.  It has made feeding, napping, and diapering Logan much easier.

Logan doesn't get it

Dylan, like with any newborn, had a month of firsts.  He had a few trips to the doctor (two for himself and one for his big brother).  He went to Target, Wal-Mart and the grocery store.  He traveled to another state.  He had his first professional photo shoot.  He also had his first play date with a boy just 3 days  younger (and 2.5 whole pounds lighter) than him.

Logan has really taken to being a big brother.  He seems to love Dylan as much as a 23 month old can.  He still loves to help with care for Dylan which includes getting Momma anything she needs.  And he now thinks he can pick Dylan up like Momma.  Lucky for me, I never leave them in a room alone together.  Logan will not go to bed or down for a nap without waving "bye" to Dylan and giving him a kiss.  The other day I got Logan's shoes and coat on him to go to the grocery store and he waved "bye" to Dylan.  He did not understand why I couldn't leave him at home alone with the dog while we go to the store.
